When ski season ends in the Town of Windham , Golf season begins (and visa versa). What never end are opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.

Winter brings downhill skiing and snowboarding, snow tubing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice-skating. When the snow melts, the trout rise to the bait and the fairways open. Tennis courts resound once again with the sound of rackets hitting balls, and soon CD Lane Park in Maplecrest opens for lake swimming and picnicking. Swimming holes along the Batavia Kill beckon, and mountain bikes careen down ski trails or glide past on country lanes. Wood smoke drifts from campsites while fresh-caught fish fry on the fire. In the fall sportsmen take to the fields and woods in search of game birds, deer, and black beer.

And always, in any season, there are the hiking trails of Windham High Peak and the Blackhead Range where you can walk in the footsteps of Thomas Cole and John Burroughs in the "forever wild" forest preserve of the Catskill State Park .
