C.D. Lane Park in Maplecrest has a beautiful manmade lake ringed by mountain peaks. There is a beach and swimming area at the lake, plus the park has a regulation basketball court, playground and sand pit, picnic areas with pavilions, a softball and soccer field, and many acres in which to walk and play. It is a great place for family reunions, birthday parties, and other summertime get-togethers. As the Batavia Kill (originating in Maplecrest and dammed to make the lake at C.D. Lane Park ) winds its way through the Town of Windham , there are public access points to swimming holes and picnic spots, and our hiking trails are popular picnic destinations, but please remember: if you carry it in, carry it out.
